Modern Hair Care for this year-Softness Works

Article by Olivia Belanger White

New) Hair Styling for 2011-Softness SellsFor the past few years, women have been sporting more short do’s. Spiky tresses were the order of the day. hair styling was more easy care, a lot of gels and hair care trended toward a somewhat less feminine look, at least according to the men in the field. From the home, to the gymnasium, to running, to shopping, that flat, well gelled look is changing dramatically this year.It was not at all a surprising trend, in that women today are dealing with the same time constraints as men. Early awakenings and off to the office meant that something had to give, and typically it was the length of their hair. This trend toward shorter hair seems to be viable still in 2011, but with a lot of changes for the styling. For those who want to keep their shorter tresses, add some height, let the top grow out just a bit longer and look a little softer. The simple fact is that hair care needs to be easy to do and that has not changed for 2011. Most women have begun to realize that longer hair may in fact be simpler to style than shorter hair. Hair care does take slightly longer with medium to long hair, but the hair styling isn’t typically much more in depth.Hair styling for 2011 sees more feminine looks, longer hair and fluffier, softer looks entering into play. With the advent of new hair care technology, new styling products, even longer hair becomes more easy-care, and far more touchable.Look for longer styles on women this year. Not just longer styles but more height and more body. Softly waving curls are the look for this year. The flat hair and the gel look is definitely on its way out the door. The hard spike or the flat hairdo is definitely a hair “don’t” for this year. Softer, waving, touchable hair is the look of the summer.Sleek hair with a little lift or a little body, or long and gently waving curls are the look for the season. Long hair, with the right hair styling, and the proper cut, can easily be fast to care for. Finger combing and gentle face-framing hair styles are at the top of the charts. One remarkably soft and stylish look is one that is known as the candy floss hair styling. You will get this soft and very shiny look, like floss, by using a few spritzes of water infused with sea salt. It gives the look of a matte finish, while softly framing the features. The hair is also typically back combed slightly to give added height to the style. The center-parted hair is another hair don’t for 2011. Use a soft side part or a finger combed style that offers no real parting to the hair. Looking like the woman that you are is what the emphasis is on for hair styling in 2011. Easy care, easy comb, blunt or layered cut, the hair cut will need to be right on the money to give you the stylish new looks and the softer touch that are sought after in 2011 hair styling.

Fighting Hair Loss with Modern Treatments

Fighting Hair Loss with Modern Treatments

Hair loss has affected men and women for centuries – and it’s been battled in one way or another for just as long. First wigs and then surgery: with, it has to be said, limited results even in the 20th century. Until, that is, a whole new method of hair replacement was pioneered, towards the end of the 20th century – a method that, in the 21st century, has started to take hold as the great new hope for sufferers from pattern and non pattern baldness everywhere.

Though more men suffer from hair loss (which is often caused by an overloaded presence of a male hormone in the scalp, and so, obviously, more common among men), women suffer worse. That’s probably because women’s hair has been elevated, over centuries of painting, sculpture, tradition and other forms of representation, into part of the symbolic set of items representing womanhood – beauty, fertility and purity. For a woman to lose her hair, though actually no more or less serious than for a man has become seen, in the eyes of society, as an ultimate de-womanising event. An ailment, almost. Female hair loss is the cause of much pain and embarrassment – needlessly, but true nonetheless.

Previous types of hair treatment haven’t really stepped up to the mark, as far as women are concerned. Even expensive wigs right up to the end of the 20th century still looked like wigs: and actual hair replacement, even as little as 20 years ago, was so unlikely to look natural it almost wasn’t worth it. Hair replacement was, then, done by removing whole strips of skin and hair from one part of the body and grafting them onto the bald area – with a result that usually looked as though the patient was wearing a wig. Why? Because even this relatively sophisticated method of hair loss treatment (the hair, at least, was fairly likely to stay in) couldn’t, and didn’t, take into account the natural grains of hair growth – the directions in which the follicles in the bald area should naturally be pointing.

The newest method of hair replacement – Follicular Transfer, or FT – works a lot better than anything that has been before it, because it works precisely on the principle of individual hair growth direction. In FT, single hairs are injected back into the bald area. The hairs are chosen specifically because their natural growth direction, in the site from whence they are plucked, is the same, or as near the same as can be, to the natural growth direction of the missing hair in the bald area. This method of hair loss treatment has already proved astonishingly successful, promoting natural looking hair growth in treated areas. That’s great news for women – who, for the first time, have a chance to get a real, workable hair replacement treatment: one that doesn’t make them look like they’ve had a wig stuck to their head.

Hair loss, then, may have been around for centuries: but, finally, mankind is able to fight back. Modern treatments are proving efficacious in ways that have never been seen before.

Hair Loss and the Modern Methods of Dealing With It

Hair Loss and the Modern Methods of Dealing With It

Hair loss is a common problem nowadays. Fortunately for the modern sufferer, though, there are pretty much as many forms of cure as there are types or causes of baldness problem in the first place. You will find that there is a cure for nearly every kind of balding situation – even when the lost hair is caused by a factor other than the norm – likes, perhaps, a lack of vitamins or some kind of severe physical shock. In nearly every case, hair loss can be treated and treated successfully.

Modern hair treatment has come a very long way in a relatively short space of time. These days you will find that most forms of hair treatment are inexpensive and, most importantly, successful – unlike treatments from even 10 or 15 years ago, which were as much a palliative as a really successful cure. These days hair replacement therapy is capable of finding individual donor hairs for a person suffering from pattern baldness – each hair chosen for its natural direction of growth. The hair is implanted to a baldness site, whereupon it takes root and grows in its normal direction. Because it has been chosen as a hair that grows in the direction that the hair to be replaced would have grown in, the cover of new hair looks utterly natural.

All forms of modern hair loss treatment have this in common. They work way better than their comparable techniques of even a very few years ago. The technique referred to above, which is known as FT or Follicular Transfer, is so much more successful than its own predecessor, the “strip farming” model of grafting pieces of skin with hair growing in it to baldness sites, that it has caused the whole process of hair replacement surgery to be downgraded in medical severity. The old strip farming method of dealing with hair loss on a large scale was an immensely painful and quite dangerous operation, classed by the surgeons as “invasive surgery”. Modern hair replacement surgery, as epitomised by FT, is classed as a minor procedure. The modern version of hair replacement surgery causes very little pain (merely some swelling for a couple of days after the operation) and carries very little risk of infection or post operative complications.

Similarly, modern hair loss medication has shown a remarkable degree of early success. Since hair treatment experts have become aware that there are several different causes of hair loss in both male and female patients, it has been easier to design medicines that can reverse the effects of the condition. The most popular medications come in the form of DHT blockers – that is to say, preparations that prevent the scalp from mutating testosterone into dihydroteststerone (DHT), an antigen that, in too much quantity, causes hair life cycles to interrupt or even stop for good.

Sufferers from hair loss, today, have a wealth of truly viable options to explore – one of which is bound to work for them. Great news for the large percentage of British people worried about their hair.
